“Thank God I’m on my way back to 100% (from his crack in the lumbar vertebrae, editor’s note), fortunately I was able to have a good recovery. We have put things in God’s hands, and we are about to fight and try to win a place, as always”*. Only a few days ago, Keylor Navas gave his news and warned everyone: he is ready to fight to get a starting place at PSG in the second half of the season, with a fairly hellish schedule facing the men by Luis Enrique.

It must be said that in this first part of the season, we were not able to see the Costa Rican at work. The fault lies with a back injury in September, then, and above all, a crack in the lumbar vertebrae at the end of October from which he is still recovering. A hard blow for the goalkeeper, but also a blessing in disguise according to some, since this injury has temporarily put aside this debate on the position of number 1 in the Parisian cages. Especially since Gigio Donnarumma does not yet convince everyone 100% in the capital… But the Italian is not just Navas’ only “rival” since Arnau Tenas showed great things in the three meetings he he was able to argue.

The temptation to leave?

But if we rely on everyday information A.S., it is possible that there will ultimately be no competition between Donnarumma and Keylor Navas in the second half of the season. Indeed, the American edition of the Spanish media explains that Navas is now third goalkeeper in the eyes of Luis Enrique and that he could well seize the few opportunities that will be offered to him during the month of January. He wants to find playing time again and two clubs are already ready to offer him some. There is already the Tigres, the Mexican club well known in France since it welcomes André-Pierre Gignac. The Mexican team could lose its starting goalkeeper Nahuel Guzman, who has a good chance of returning to Argentina, and Navas could come and replace him.

If he decides to stay in Europe, Keylor Navas could bounce back at Newcastle. A.S. indicates that the Magpies, who challenged PSG in the group stage of the Champions League, could make Navas the replacement for Nick Pope, absent for a little over three more months following a shoulder injury. An attractive option for the former Real Madrid player, who has already performed in England during his loan spell at Nottingham Forest last season. Two options, three with that of staying in Paris, among which the goalkeeper will have to decide…
