It’s now official. We finally know the names of the 27 Ivorian players who were chosen by Jean-Louis Gasset to play in the 2024 edition of the African Cup of Nations on their land and in front of their home crowd.

The French technician revealed his list this Thursday. A high quality group which is undoubtedly one of the favorite teams for final victory in this tournament.

However, one major absentee is not part of this list to compete in the most prestigious African competition. Galatasaray winger Wilfried Zaha was surprisingly not called up by Jean-Louis Gasset.

Author of a rather decent and encouraging start to the season (6 goals and 2 assists in all competitions), his performances with the Turkish club were clearly not to Jean-Louis Gasset’s taste.

At 31, the former Manchester United player may have said goodbye to his chances of one day playing in the Africa Cup of Nations again. Note in this list the return of Nicolas Pépé and Ismael Diallo.
