After a failed stint at Sevilla FC, Isco arrived at neighbors Real Bétis during the last summer transfer window with the aim of relaunching a stalled career. Very quickly, this choice paid off. Gradually making his way into Manuel Pellegrini’s squad to the point of becoming an indisputable starter, the 31-year-old attacking midfielder is coming off a more than encouraging first part of the season (23 appearances including 20 starts for 3 goals and 4 assists in all competitions).

From then on, the Andalusian club worked behind the scenes to extend the contract of the native of Benalmádena to prevent other clubs from knocking on its door like Inter Milan. Initially linked until June 2025, the Iberian has just extended his lease for two additional seasons with the Verdiblancos, this Thursday. A good thing done for the current seventh in La Liga who has just completed a hot file after registering the signing of Johnny Cardoso from SC Internacional the day before.
