Months after reaching an agreement with Athletico Paranaense for his transfer, FC Barcelona finally has its first recruit of the winter transfer window: Vitor Roque. Initially expected next July, the Brazilian striker arrived earlier than expected at Barça to the delight of Blaugrana supporters. On cloud nine, the 18-year-old star wasted no time in showing some color during his first steps in Catalonia: “It’s a dream come true. I want to learn as much as possible with the whole group, have fun and I always want to win the ball and score goals. It was a childhood dream of mine and that of my family. Being able to be here today only makes me want to win as much as possible and be able to help in any way I can.”

Aware that his new nugget has a lot of talent, the Spanish champion knows very well that he will not solve his team’s current difficulties alone. Given the high expectations linked to his expensive transfer (€30 million), the Catalan leaders want to avoid putting too much pressure on the young Brazilian striker. According to Sport, the Blaugrana management leaves itself the next six months so that Vitor Roque can adapt to his new working environment. The emphasis will mainly be placed on his integration and his understanding of the style of play imposed by Xavi. In return, the 18-year-old player will have to be as involved as possible and adopt an impeccable attitude on the field.
