Their names are Lucas Beraldo and Gabriel Moscardo and you’ve probably never seen them play for their respective clubs, São Paulo and Corinthians. They will arrive at Paris Saint-Germain in January, since the Parisian club was able to double the competition to complete two projects costing around €20 million. In return for these two arrivals which could resolve the problems detected in Luis Enrique’s squad, two departures are hoped for by the Parisian management.
And you haven’t seen them play this season either. Or a few poor minutes. For Hugo Ekitike, it was during the first match of the season, at the Parc des Princes against Lorient, when the entire squad was not yet ready. 9 minutes to stretch your legs, and then nothing after that. Not included in the list of players selected for the Champions League, punished for having refused the solutions envisaged for a departure during the summer, the former Reims striker went through the first part of the season like an outcast.
Who can afford them?
An outcast with an enormous salary, 600,000 euros gross per month, which puts off potential courtiers. We are thinking in particular of OL, interested in the player, but who abandoned the idea of recovering him, even by paying only 50% of his fees, as told by Le Parisien this Wednesday. There are still interested English clubs, but PSG seem resigned to only receiving loan offers. The second player that the Ile-de-France club hopes to see leave is Layvin Kurzawa.
Here again, the problem of salary arises, with its 500,000 euros gross monthly. Especially since the ideal host country for this kind of income, England, was not marked by the left-back’s move to Fulham last season. Another major obstacle, Kurzawa is at the end of his contract at the end of the season, and could therefore quietly choose his new club as a free player. Therefore, the hoped-for downsizing looks like a mission impossible for PSG.
