PSG will ruin Valentine's Day again

Kylian Mbappé has not shined in the center with PSG in recent months and the statistics confirm it: as a center forward or second striker, the crack tricolor has made his team win less than nine other players in 2023, including Erling Haaland and Antoine Griezmann.

At just 25 years old, Kylian Mbappé is an immense phenomenon. The former AS Monaco prodigy, 2018 world champion with the France team, has become the star striker of PSG and the captain of the Blues. Then come Antoine Griezmann, exceptional for Atlético for a year, then Rodrygo and Vinicius, who rarely play in the center at Real Madrid, but who are ahead of Lautaro Martinez (Inter), Harry Kane (Tottenham and Bayern) and Robert Lewandowski ( Barça), three central attackers with different profiles.

Mbappé is only 10th in this ranking. By playing in the center, he earned fewer points for PSG than Alvaro Morata for Atlético! It must be said that the progress of “Kyks” is not very visible despite the total freedom granted by Luis Enrique. Mbappé lacks a little technique and lucidity in small spaces, but, above all, he shows an inability to stand out in the interline, which Haaland, Griezmann or Kane do perfectly.
