The French women’s team will try to win the very first Women’s Nations League next February, with a semi-final against Germany in Lyon and a final (or a small final) in Seville in the event of a clash with the world champions.
Double winner of the African Cup of Nations (in 2012 with Zambia and in 2015 with Ivory Coast), Hervé Renard will try to offer a very first title to the French women’s team (which only has the moment gained only by invitational events). Les Bleues brilliantly won their group in the inaugural edition of the Women’s Nations League and will be at the Final Four at the end of February.
Wendie Renard and her teammates will have a hard time facing Germany in the semi-finals on February 23, against a Frauenteam who knocked them out in the semi-finals of Euro 2022 (1-2). The memory is extremely painful, even if, at the time, a certain Corinne Deacon was still in charge. Advantage for the French: they will host in the immense Groupama Stadium, the home of Olympique Lyonnais.
If they face Spain in the final or for the match for third place, on Wednesday February 28, they will travel to Seville, to the Olympic Stadium in the La Cartuja district. A clash with the Spanish would be pretty incredible to watch. The world champions will face the Netherlands in the other semi-final, also in Andalusia but in Cadiz.
