While Luton Town beat Sheffield United (2-3) this Tuesday evening, British police are investigating an alleged racist insult made by an individual in the aisles of the Bramall Lane stadium. According to statements by coach Rob Edwards, someone made racist remarks against Luton striker Carlton Morris. Asked about the incident after the match, Luton manager Edwards said in his press conference: “This is an alleged racist comment, the police are now dealing with it. They spoke to Carlton and got his views, it’s with them now so I have no further comment on that. Carlton is fine. At the time he looked pretty angry, but he seems fine now.”.
As a reminder, the referee of the match, Sam Allison, stopped the match in injury time to speak to both groups of managers after the 28-year-old logically complained. Luton Town confirmed Morris reported abuse at Bramall Lane, while the Premier League said: “Racism has no place in our game or anywhere in society and we encourage anyone who hears or sees discrimination to report it so that action can be taken. We will offer our full support to Carlton Morris and Luton Town FC, while continuing to work with clubs and authorities to ensure our stadiums are an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.it is then written in the official press release.
