Lyon star Rayan Cherki is in the crosshairs of Manchester United, who are preparing for the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, according to FootballTransfers.

The 20-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League for several years, but Ratcliffe’s imminent arrival has seen the Red Devils identify Cherki as a key transfer target. Footballtransfers claims that Ratcliffe would like to bring Cherki to Old Trafford in 2024, even if Man Utd’s interest in the Frenchman is not new.

Ratcliffe currently owns OGC Nice and his links to France could help him in his quest for Cherki. The attacking midfielder, who can play as a right winger, has made 17 appearances for Lyon this season, but is yet to score his first goal of the campaign. However, he delivered two assists.

Cherki has mostly played in the number 10 position for Lyon this season, but would likely be used on the right flank if he joined Man Utd, due to the presence of Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount. Antony currently plays the role at Old Trafford, but is yet to score this season, with his last goal for Man Utd coming back in April.
