Djamel Belmadi, the Algeria coach, is preparing to surprise Fennecs fans.

The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations starts on January 13 in Ivory Coast. The lists of selected players are starting to fall. The next one that could follow should be that of Algeria.

Algeria with or without Bennacer?

While he generally waited until the last moment to announce those summoned, Djamel Belmadi should communicate his group of 27 this Thursday. Indeed, a press conference is planned for that day at noon. The veil will then be lifted on the elements calling for offering Algeria its third continental trophy.

Most of the suspense concerns Ismael Bennacer. Returning to the competition just a few days ago, the former Touraine player is perhaps not in the best predisposition to compete in this event. On the Milan side, we are crossing our fingers that he will be exempt from this CAN.

Before heading to Ivory Coast, Algeria will play two friendly matches. Riyad Mahrez and his teammates will successively challenge Togo and Burundi. During the competition, they will then face Angola, Mauritania and Burkina Faso.
