French striker Marcus Thuram prefers to conquer the Italian championship rather than the European Champions League.

Marcus Thuram joined Inter Milan last summer with the hope of enriching his personal record. The former Guingamp player would see himself winning all possible titles with the Nerazzurri. But if this scenario does not come true, he would happily settle for just one trophy.

Thuram wants to win Serie A

When answering a quiz from the media Calciomercato which asked him which competition he wanted to win above all, the French international answered the Italian championship rather than the Champions League. “It’s the Scudetto”, he thundered without hesitation. It’s off to a good start considering that Inter is currently leader of its championship with 4 points ahead of Juventus (2e).

Note that no French player has yet been crowned European champion with Inter. The 2010 team did not include any French nationals in its squad. However, big names have passed through San Siro like Youri Djorkaeff, Benoit Cauet and Stéphane Dalmat.

The vice-world champion made a very remarkable debut with the training of Simone Inzaghi. He scored 8 goals and offered 6 assists in 23 matches played (including 19 as a starter). A prolific performance which notably earned him the praise of his attacking partner, Lautaro Martinez.
