As for the Mersey club, the meeting could have taken a different turn apart from the Egyptian’s equalizer. While trying to escape from Martin Odegaard’s marking with an oriented control, the latter slowed the ball’s movement by diverting his hand in his own area (19th). An obvious hand fault in the eyes of the Anfield public which was nevertheless not noted by the VAR and therefore not the match referee, Chris Kavanagh. This incident had the gift of annoying Jürgen Klopp who did not hesitate to remind the press of it. “Yes I saw it. I’m sure someone will come along and explain to me why it wasn’t a hand, but I don’t know how. I’m not saying the referee can see it because I don’t know where he is in the action. But how can a guy in an office see this and not come to the conclusion that maybe it might be worth the referee taking another look?declared the Reds coach.
