Lewandowski, things are going wrong

After Robert Lewandowski’s disappointing half-season, Barca are looking to sell the Polish veteran to Saudi Arabia for next summer.

Robert Lewandowski had already shown signs of weakness last season, after a great debut at FC Barcelona. The goals are absolutely not enough (there are only 9 goals in 21 matches in all competitions), the 35-year-old Polish striker is no longer in the game technically, physically and collectively within the football proposed by Xavi.

The departure of “Lewy” will not be for the winter transfer window, but very probably for the next offseason. As indicated by the Catalan media Sport, the Blaugrana leaders contacted an intermediary to offer the former Bayern striker to Saudi Arabia for next summer. The powerful Saudi clubs already had The Best Fifa Player of the Year 2020 and 2021.

In financial difficulties for several years, Joan Laporta’s FCB will have difficulty recruiting a new world-class striker, but will perhaps be able to afford the services of a modern striker capable of participating in the game more effectively than Lewandowski. The latter is not the team’s only problem, but the reigning Spanish champions are already seven points behind the two leaders, Real and Girona.
