Back after a long convalescence, Christopher Nkunku is expected to be a strong element by Mauricio Pochettino.

Recruited for 60 million euros last summer, Christopher Nkunku has not yet had the opportunity to show the extent of his talent in the jersey of Chelsea. Having undergone knee surgery, the French international was absent for a long time and made his return to the field on December 19 during the Blues’ qualification against Newcastle in the EFL Cup, during which he played 22 minutes. While the London club is stagnating in the soft underbelly of the Premier League (10th, 14 points from the top 4), the return of the Frenchman could give some momentum to a team that really needs it.

Expected at the turn

The 26-year-old striker is in any case eagerly awaited by Mauricio Pochettino, who sees him as a long-term solution. “Nkunku will be a key player for us in the long term, that’s for sure. I’m not going to put pressure on him, we’re going to push him, help him to be better every day. He must also be intelligent to understand that he must surpass himself”, confided the Argentinian technician. The French international (10 caps) could continue with Chelsea’s trip to Wolverhampton this Sunday.
