Continuation of the 17th day of Serie A this Saturday evening. AS Roma opened the doors of its Olimpico stadium to Napoli. A magnificent display on paper between two teams in search of confidence, two large Italian teams plagued by a certain irregularity this season. During the first period, the Giallorossi and the Partenopei mainly exchanged blows with a great dose of aggression and intensity. We had to wait until the second half and the achievements of Lorenzo Pellegrini (76th) and Romelu Lukaku (90th + 4) to guide the locals to victory (2-0) but not without fighting in the literal sense of the term. The match was above all marked by numerous faults in a choppy scenario where the refereeing body had its work cut out to keep the 22 players in the match.

The match ended with a total of 10 yellow cards and 2 red cards. Note the exclusion of Matteo Politano for a dangerous gesture (66th), then joined by Victor Osimhen who cut off a Roman counter action. In the standings, AS Roma moves to 6th position in the Italian championship, just ahead of their evening opponents Napoli, who are still struggling to climb the slope despite the recent change of coach and the arrival of Walter Mazzarri to replace Rudi Garcia . After the Christmas holidays, the Giallorossi will face Juventus in Piedmont while the reigning Italian champions will host Lombard club Monza at home on the 18th day of Serie A.
