Rayan Cherki, the thunderbolt?

Olympique Lyonnais reportedly intends to sell its great hope this winter, in order to make a good sale. But the young striker does not want to leave.

Even if everything is going better sportingly for Olympique Lyonnais, with this series of three consecutive victories which allowed Pierre Sage’s team to escape from the red zone, the game is not yet won. The DNCG has validated a budget of 50 million euros to allow OL to recruit this winter, but at the same time the Rhone club must deal with a payroll that is still regulated, which limits its room for maneuver.

L’Equipe explains that OL would therefore need to part ways with one of its five highest earners: Alexandre Lacazette, Corentin Tolisso, Anthony Lopes, Dejan Lovren and Rayan Cherki. And in the lot, it’s the last one that John Textor’s club would like to sell this winter.

OL want to sell Cherki

Performing well with the French junior team but often disappointing with his club, Cherki represents OL’s best market value. The club would like to recover 20 million euros for a player who will be at the end of his contract in 18 months.

But there is a major obstacle: the player, holder since the arrival of Pierre Sage, does not want to leave. This is what he clearly expressed after the match against Nantes (1-0) on Wednesday, where he was decisive on Alexandre Lacazette’s goal.
