Targeted by Olympique Lyonnais, Clément Lenglet finally seems to fit into Unai Emery’s plans at Aston Villa.

Despite an envelope of 50 million euros to recruit, Olympique Lyonnais also intends to target players on loan to strengthen themselves this winter. And according to L’Equipe, Clément Lenglet is one of them.

The French defender is on loan from FC Barcelona to Aston Villa, but he plays very little. Until Friday, he had only played five Europa Conference League matches. But against Sheffield, Unai Emery decided to start him.

“I want to keep Lenglet at Villa in the second part of the season, Emery announced at a press conference. Tomorrow (this Friday, against Sheffield United), he will play. I really want to see him, I’m really convinced he can help us. »

Aston Villa were held by Sheffield (1-1), but Lenglet was rather satisfactory, notably being very involved in the construction of the game, with 105 successful passes out of 115. He does not seem to be on the transfer market…
