Manchester United sank again on Saturday in the Premier League, in the den of West Ham (2-0). The Red Devils had not lost 13 matches before Christmas since 1933!

The nightmare continues for Manchester United and especially for Erik ten Hag, who seems ever more in the hot seat even though he has lost the confidence of part of the locker room. The Red Devils lost away to West Ham (2-0) on Saturday afternoon, as part of the 18th day of the Premier League. The Mancunian club, record holder for English championship titles (20), had never lost 13 matches at Christmas since 1933. An eternity.

Dominant, especially at the start of the second half, Bruno Fernandes and his teammates were unable to get a real opportunity to beat Alphonse Areola. For a fourth match without scoring, counting the defeat (and elimination) against Bayern in the Champions League. The entry of Marcus Rashford (57th), in place of a Rasmus Hojlund who was once again nowhere to be found, gave new impetus to the Mancuniens, except that the meeting swung to the other side.

Paqueta decisive passer on both goals!

Each time launched by Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen opened the scoring by beating André Onana in two stages (72nd) and the untenable Mohammed Kudus doubled the lead with a cross shot between the legs of Jonny Evans. The almost 36-year-old veteran was associated with a French defender in the central hinge. It was not Raphaël Varane, ill, but a 19-year-old, Willy Kambwala, who was making his professional debut.

Manchester United are only eighth in the standings, six points from the top 4 and before facing Aston Villa, the current runner-up to Arsenal, next Tuesday in the Boxing Day evening show. David Moyes’ Hammers overtake their opponent of the day to find themselves in seventh position.
