After two (good) matches with Manchester United, Raphaël Varane, ill, withdrew from the Premier League match against West Ham this Saturday (1:30 p.m.).

Relegated to the bench of Manchester United in favor of Victor Lindelöf (although unreliable) and Harry Maguire (dismissed at the start of the season), Raphaël Varane got back on track last week by starting against Bayern Munich in the Champions League before continuing against Liverpool (0-0). The 2018 world champion leaves the Red Devils’ eleven again this Saturday for a match in the den of West Ham (kick-off 1:30 p.m. live on Canal+ Foot).

Varane is reported ill by Erik ten Hag as United play their Boxing Day encounter against Aston Villa next Tuesday. It is a young French defender from the Man United reserve team, Willy Kambwala, 19 years old, recruited from Sochaux in 2020, who is making his professional debut, associated with Jonny Evans, almost 36 years old.

Only seventh in the Premier League with six points behind the top 4 currently, Bruno Fernandes and his teammates (Rasmus Hojlund is aligned up front, with Antony and Alejandro Garnacho on the wings), will try to beat the Hammers who are ninth in the standings with just one point less.
