AC Milan traveled to Campania this Friday evening to face Salernitana on the lawn of the Artemio-Franchi stadium, during the 17th day of Serie A. While the two teams fought well in the first period with around ten strikes attempted from both sides, Fikayo Tomori opened the scoring for the Rossoneri (17th) but the Salernitans equalized thanks to Federic Fazio (42nd). In the second act, Antonio Candreva allowed his team (63rd) to take the advantage. But Luka Jovic saved the Rossoneri with a goal late in the match (90th). With this draw (2-2), AC Milan remains 3rd but gives Inter and Juventus a chance to widen the gap in the standings, while Salernitana remains last.

In the other match played simultaneously, Monza hosted Fiorentina on the pitch at the U-Power Stadium in Lombardy. Thanks to the quick opening score (7th) from summer recruit Lucas Beltran, the Viola was able to lock in a precious success (0-1) to pocket three important points and thus climb to 4th place in the ranking. With this victory coupled with AC Milan’s disappointing draw, Vincenzo Italiano’s players can dream of the Champions League or at least a great European competition.
