Cristiano Ronaldo’s dispute with Juventus over €19.5 million in frozen wages is set to continue until next year, according to reports.

Ronaldo took the Serie A club to court in June over unpaid wages dating back to the Covid-19 pandemic. The case has dragged on for six months and both sides returned to court on Wednesday to present their final arguments. The Court of Arbitration is expected to deliver its verdict in April next year, but a further hearing could take place next month.

The dispute centers on deferred salaries that Juve players accepted during the bird flu pandemic. Ronaldo claims the Turin club owes him a significant sum, but La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Bianconeri insist the Portuguese star gave up those wages when she left to join Manchester United in August 2021 and that they have no intention of paying him.

Ronaldo joined Juve from Real Madrid in 2018 and scored 101 goals in 134 appearances in all competitions, helping the club to two Serie A and Supercoppa Italiana titles and a Coppa Italia crown before returning to Old Trafford .
