The president of Paris Saint-Germain made very strong comments regarding the Super League project.

This is information that has had the effect of a small bombshell in the world football landscape: the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) has ruled that football clubs can participate in new private competitions. In other words, the Super League project led by Florentino Perez via the A22 Sports group could well see the light of day under current conditions.

Football Europe will therefore be fractured in the months to come. Because many major institutions are opposed to this prospect, starting with Paris Saint-Germain. President of the capital club, but also of the European Club Association (ECA), Nasser Al-Khelaïfi made very strong remarks this Thursday. The Qatari leader even joked on the subject.

“The decision has no direct relationship with the Super League”

“There is too much noise around this news. For them (the organizers of the Super League), it is a victory. I don’t see it that way at all. The decision has no direct relationship with the Super League »launched Al-Khelaïfi, alongside Aleksander Ceferin. “They talk to us about freedom, but it remains, among other things, a closed league”he reported. “It’s strange, some people talk about the Superleague with the UEFA trophies behind them” .

Words that confirm the official position of Paris Saint-Germain indicated a little earlier today, via a press release from the capital club.
