A major European club has reportedly made the decision to join the Super League.
The divide is total. Football Europe is divided into two camps following the decision handed down by the Court of Justice of the European Union, which authorized football clubs to create new competitions, thus relaunching the Super League project initiated by Florentino Perez.
In his major maneuvers, the emblematic president of Real Madrid had initially tried to bring together all the major European institutions. But at present, only FC Barcelona, via its counterpart Joan Laporta, is supporting the project. The Juventus board is in a more ambiguous position after the departure of Andrea Agnelli.
Super League: an unexpected ally for Perez
Above all, Real Madrid can no longer count on the support of other European heavyweights such as the English Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool or Arsenal, as well as the Germans Borussia Dortmund or Bayern Munich and the two Milan clubs in Italy.
But it is on the other side of the Alps, precisely, that Perez would have unearthed a new ally in the person of a very controversial figure in European football: Aurelio De Laurentiis. The president of Naples would be ready to give the green light to see his club join the Super League, according to information from the Italian press agency Ansa.
