Paul Pogba’s doping trial scheduled for January has been postponed to a later date.
On August 20, after Juventus’ match against Udinese, Pogba tested positive for DHEA, a banned substance. The French international was then provisionally suspended on September 11.
Today, the French midfielder is still waiting to know his sanction in the doping case which concerns him. According to information from Gazzetta dello Sport, his trial before the Italian National Anti-Doping Court (NADO), initially scheduled for January 18, has been postponed to February 15.
Indeed, the national anti-doping prosecutor’s office requested a four-year suspension for the 2018 world champion. However, Pogba’s defense obtained a postponement of the trial in order to prepare their counterattack.
The trial verdict is expected on February 15. If convicted, the 2018 world champion could be suspended from all competition for four years. Which would be a hard blow for the native of Lagny-sur-Marne, who is under contract with the Bianconeri until June 2026.
