The 2024 African Cup of Nations promises to be difficult for OM, Le Havre, Metz and Lorient. On the other hand, PSG, Lyon, Rennes or Lille will only be slightly impacted.
There are Ligue 1 teams which, barring a prolific transfer window this winter, will suffer during the African Cup of Nations, between January 13 and February 11. In the game of internationals who will desert the ranks, OM is undoubtedly the big loser. No less than nine elements are among the players pre-summoned for the continental tournament.
A contingent which risks also being provided for the Le Havre, who also have nine pre-summoned while each of the selections has so far communicated a list of around fifty names – for 27 lucky ones elected in the end. Lorient and Metz for their part could lose eight players in the battle; Reims Sept.
Paris spared
On the elite podium at or almost halfway through, Monaco and Nice will re-start the championship with potentially six fewer elements, like Strasbourg. For Lens, Nantes, Montpellier and Toulouse, the clash will be limited to five players. Note that the Parisian leader will be the least impacted, with only one executive affected by the CAN. For Lyon, Lille and Rennes, only three players should be missing.
