This Tuesday, the Spanish federation announced a big change in the relationship between the use of VAR and spectators.

Since its gradual introduction into the world of football between 2017 and 2019, video assistance in refereeing, better known as VAR, continues to create numerous debates. If some are satisfied with its arrival and what it brings to arbitration, others strongly criticize its use, because the final decision always remains at the discretion of the referee and his team.

In order to improve its use, the Spanish federation launched a small revolution this Tuesday. In a press release, the RFEF announced that conversations between the referees of competitions using the system and the VAR referents would be available after each day. This measure will apply from the 20th day of La Liga in mid-January. The aim of the federation is to “ make refereeing as transparent as possible in professional football “ .
