In February 2024, Inter Miami will face Lionel Messi’s former club Newell’s Old Boys in a friendly match.
With the MLS season having ended for almost two months, fans of Lionel Messi are undoubtedly impatient to see their idol once again walk the lawns. Since then, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner has only played one friendly match with his club and two matches with the Argentine selection. With the 2024 season not starting until February, the club chaired by David Beckham has already planned several friendly matches from January 20, including one against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr.

This Monday, the Florida club announced a new friendly match against a club that La Pulga knows rather well, Newell’s Old Boys, which will take place on February 15 in Miami. A necessarily special moment for Messi since he joined the Argentine club at the age of 7 before leaving six years later to join FC Barcelona. He notably wore his jersey to pay tribute to Diego Maradona after his death in November 2020.
