A new feared gang kingpin? At Paris Saint-Germain, the position of Kylian Mbappé in number 9 during the capital club’s last matches continues to be talked about. Despite the presence of Gonçalo Ramos, Randal Kolo Muani and Marco Asensio to a lesser extent, Luis Enrique has in fact decided to align the Bondynois at the forefront of the attack. A role which does not really seem to suit the French international and which could also explain his recent sulks.
However, according to the latest information from The Team, the fact of seeing the 2018 world champion installed in this position responds to a fairly simple logic in Luis Enrique: in defensive animation, with this role, Mbappé would thus be less penalizing for the team in the spirit of the Spanish. A tactical decision which, however, does not seem to please the person concerned, expressing a certain uneasiness since he has been playing in the center.
