OM, two recruits dismissed this winter?

If OM has corrected things somewhat in recent weeks, the first part of the season remains no less disappointing. Some recruits are not at the expected level.

Attractive on paper, the Marseille transfer window did not bear the expected results. If Amir Murillo, the most anonymous of the club’s reinforcements, gives satisfaction; if Geoffrey Kondogbia, despite injuries, was able to show his qualities as a captain; and if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finally seems to have found his place as a scorer within Gennaro Gattuso’s squad, in a 3-5-2 system which suits his skills more, two recruits from whom OM expected a lot remain at dock for now.

Although he scored four goals and provided two assists, Ismaïla Sarr has gradually plunged, losing his starting place and dealing with insipid starts in recent weeks. Behind the scenes at Marseille, it is already being said that the former Rennais has burned his jokers with his coach and could be called upon to leave Marseille this winter. The Senegalese press is reporting interest from two Premier League teams – Wolverhampton and Fulham – for the man who in the past was able to conquer the Championship in the ranks of Watford.

Ndiaye courted across the Channel

Another Lion of Teranga supposed to play the CAN next January and not giving complete satisfaction to OM until then, Iliman Ndiaye will not necessarily be retained this winter either. According to Foot Mercato, the former Sheffield United striker is also the subject of advances from England. Everton, a year earlier, had tried to poach him for 23 million euros – a sum then refused by the Blades – and would be willing to try their luck again during the winter market. The main person concerned, however, would like to establish himself in his favorite club.
