Disappointing. The long-awaited clash between Liverpool and Manchester United did not really keep all its promises (0-0). In the end, a draw, which suits the Red Devils – who lost 7-0 last year at Anfield -, not those of the Reds. Solid defensively, Erik ten Hag’s men showed themselves to be diligent and rigorous, like a good Varane, and even interesting, sometimes, on the counter-attack. Disappointed by the final result, Virgil Van Dijk sent a small tackle to the Mancuniens: “There was only one team trying to win the game. We want to win every game, especially against a team like them. In the end, they are happy with a point”. Roy Keane didn’t like it.

The former glory of Manchester United, on Sky Sportsliterally dismantled the Dutch defender. “There’s a lot of arrogance on his part. He must remember that Liverpool have only won one title in 30 years. United are in a difficult situation, just like Liverpool have been. This is arrogance and it backfired on them today. For many years Liverpool were in a bad situation and United in a good situation, but United didn’t disrespect clubs like that. Only one title in 33 years? I came to Anfield several times with Manchester United, and Liverpool were in a difficult situation and were happy with a draw too.. The message got through.
