The draw for the Europa League play-offs will be made this Monday, December 18. The four French clubs concerned, Lens, OM, Rennes and Toulouse, will know their opponent for the month of February.
There will be a nice French contingent this Monday at UEFA headquarters, in Nyon (Switzerland), for the draw for the Europa League play-offs. Some are happy to be there, like RC Lens, who snatched their place in C3 by beating Sevilla on the last day of the Champions League, or Toulouse, who took second place in their Europa League group, in the wheel of Liverpool, after a nice run with three victories in six matches.
OM and Rennes are in the same situation as TFC but the feeling is not the same. Both clubs had the possibility of finishing at the top of their group, of being directly qualified for the round of 16, and therefore of being quiet until March. But the Phocaeans and the Bretons gave in in the last minutes to Brighton (1-0) and against Villarreal (2-3), and will therefore have to go through these perilous roadblocks.
The draw at 1 p.m.
OM, Rennes and Toulouse will face a reverse of the Champions League, with the advantage of receiving in the return match. TFC dreams of a shock against AC Milan, while OM and Rennes would undoubtedly prefer a match against a more affordable opponent. For Lens, a duel against José Mourinho’s AS Roma is possible.
The draw will be made from 1 p.m. this Monday, December 18, just after the Champions League draw. It will be broadcast live on Canal+ Foot and RMC Sport 1. Note that the draws for the Europa Conference League play-offs will take place immediately, at around 2 p.m.
