Dimitri Payet, the former captain of Marseille, sent a message to Marseille supporters.
Back at the Vélodrome, Sunday during the OM – Clermont match in the championship, Dimitri Payet gave his news. The Reunionese, who spent almost a decade with the Olympian team, promises to return to his old home in the near future.
Payet “wants to make OM grow”
Payet has an agreement with Pablo Longoria which allows him to return to OM once his playing career is over. He would then join management in a role that has yet to be defined. A mission that he is determined to accomplish.
“There is nothing defined yet. But no matter where they put me, the objective is to make Marseille grow, he declared during an intervention on Prime Video. In any club, you need people who know the club. That’s kind of my goal, but as late as possible.”

The former French international also admitted to liking playing big brothers during his last season in Marseille. “Last season, as I wasn’t playing, I had a completely different role in the locker room. I cared much more about others than myself. It was a different experience, but it helped me a lot. »
Aged 36, Payet is currently having his first experience outside French borders. Since last summer, he has been playing for Vasco Da Gama. He helped this great Brazilian club to stay in the first division. He likes it across the Atlantic and for the moment does not intend to return immediately.
