An experienced French midfielder has expressed his desire to play for OM before the end of his career.

Olympique de Marseille remains an attractive club. And those who have any doubts about this had confirmation this weekend with the appeal made by a (former) French international towards the Phocaeans. Playing abroad for almost a decade, he could easily see himself returning to Ligue 1 by putting on the prestigious Marseille tunic.

A reinforcement of choice for OM in the middle

The player in question is Yann M’Vila. At 33, and after exile in Russia, Italy, England and Greece (interspersed with a stint at ASSE), he is ready to return home. He is interested in a stay in the south of France or in freelancing at the other Olympique, that of Lyon.

“Yes, they are two good clubs, he admitted on Sunday on Amazon Prime. With very good projects. My qualities are compatible with these two teams. So yes, why not? What do Gennaro Gattuso and Pierre Sage think?

M’Vila’s experience at the highest level is undeniable. As a reminder, he has worn the French team jersey 22 times and notably played as a starter at Euro 2012. Today, he is completely free given that he has been without a club since the end of his stint at Olympiakos. There will therefore be no transfer fee to be paid for his services. Note that his signing in Marseille could already have been done last summer.
