Since July 2011 and the arrival of QSI at the head of Paris Saint-Germain, the capital club has established itself as one of the best in the Old Continent. Although the Ile-de-France residents have not yet won the Champions League, the French club is one of the most important teams in the world.

This Sunday, the FIFA announced the new version of the Club World Cup which will take place from June 15 to July 13, 2025. A competition that several Europeans will compete in. This is the case for Paris Saint-Germain.

Usually reserved for the winner of the Champions League, other European teams will therefore have the opportunity to play in the tournament. The competition will bring together 32 teams.

The official name of the competition will be Mundial de Clubes FIFAand will bring together clubs from each of the six international confederations: CAF (Africa) inherits four places, like the AFC (Asia) and Concacaf (North America), UEFA (Europe) will occupy twelve places, Conmebol (South America) six and OFC (Oceania) one.

Several teams have already qualified for the competition. In Europe, four places were allocated for the winners of the Champions League 2021 (Chelsea), 2022 (Real Madrid), 2023 (Manchester City) and 2024.

For the other eight, “the current pre-existing methodological principles for the purpose of calculating the UEFA club coefficient (…) were applied to determine the ranking of European clubs for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup” , specified the Fifa.

Which therefore allows PSG, currently 4th in the UEFA rankings, to take a place in this new very exclusive club. The Rouge et Bleu support four clubs already guaranteed to be there in 2025: Bayern Munich, Inter, FC Porto and SL Benfica.
