Easy winner of Monza this Sunday (3-0), AC Milan took advantage of its success to make up a small part of its gap on Juventus. The Rossoneri are now five points behind the Old Lady.

There is better for AC Milan. Alternating periods of good and less good for several weeks, Olivier Giroud’s teammates scored a second success in a row this Sunday, in all competitions, thanks to their home victory against Monza (3-0, 16th day of Serie HAS). Although he did not score, Giroud nevertheless provided a superb assist for Noah Okafor for the third and final Rossonero goal.

The match immediately tilted towards Milan since Tijani Reijnders opened the scoring in the third minute of play. Shortly before the break, it was the young Jan-Carlo Simic, who came on in the twenty-fourth minute of the game. meeting following the injury of Tommaso Pobega, who doubled the lead (2-0, 41st). Although Monza shot a lot (nearly) and dominated in terms of ball possession (55%), Milan retained their lead.

Giroud inspired

And it was therefore on a service inspired by Giroud that Okafor definitively folded the match at the dawn of the last quarter of an hour (3-0, 76th)… before in turn leaving due to injury (80th). This result allows Milan to come back to within five points of Juventus (2nd), and above all to maintain a good lead over Naples (4th), its direct pursuer.
