Find the results of this Sunday afternoon’s matches, counting for the 16th day of Ligue 1.

Before the big names took the stage a little later in the day, this Sunday afternoon was lively in the four corners of France. All eyes were focused on a poster opposing two representatives of French football on the European scene, Toulouse and Rennes.

Rennes and Toulouse cannot do it

After experiencing varying fortunes in the middle of the week, Téfécé and Stade Rennais approached this match with a lot of pressure given their respective situations in Ligue 1. Thirteenth at kick-off, Julien Stéphan’s men, far from their objective, had the opportunity to make a small jump in the ranking, while Toulouse, fifteenth, had been completely at a standstill for several weeks. And these two teams in difficulty did not manage to decide between themselves, although each had their period (0-0). A goalless draw that doesn’t do anyone’s business.

Strasbourg is giving itself some fresh air!

The good operation of the day is to the credit of Strasbourg, which won against Lorient in a duel at the bottom of the table (2-1). The Alsatian club made the difference thanks to goals from Bakwa (0-1, 14th) and Gameiro (1-2, 49th). Dieng reduced the score, but the matter was settled (2-1, 49th). Strasbourg thus moves up to the first part of the table, in 9th place, while the Merlus plunge to penultimate. Finally, Montpellier moved ahead of Metz in the standings thanks to its success on the Lorraine pitch (1-0). Esteve’s goal scored very early was enough for the Héraultais to be happy (0-1, 9th).
