Questioned on the subject as part of his trial in Nice, Christophe Galtier did not wish to disclose the amount of his salary to Qatar, where he currently coaches Al-Duhail.

Christophe Galtier spent Friday at the Nice Criminal Court, where he is the subject of a trial “for alleged acts of moral harassment and discrimination”. The former coach of OGC Nice is accused by a former manager of the Aiglons, Julien Fournier, of having made inappropriate comments about certain players, in particular the Muslims on his team and the blacks.

As part of this trial, Christophe Galtier was questioned about the salary he currently receives in Qatar. “For security reasons I cannot answer”, Al-Duhail coach told the court, reports Nice morning. “I imagine that this amount is disturbing, of which act”, replied the public prosecutor of Nice, Damien Martinelli. Later in the day, Galtier’s lawyers still provided the salary of the ex-PSG coach, who currently receives around 200,000 euros per month.

Why is Galtier’s salary of interest to justice? No doubt to take it into account when imposing a possible financial sanction on the French technician. A suspended prison sentence of twelve months was requested against Christophe Galtier, as well as a fine of 45,000 euros. The court’s decision will be rendered Thursday, December 21, at 1:30 p.m.
