Winner Friday evening at Nottingham (0-2, 17th day of the Premier League), Tottenham consolidated their fifth place to the detriment of Manchester United.
The fight is fierce to hold on to Europe, on the side of the Premier League. Winner Friday evening on the lawn of Nottingham Forest (0-2), Tottenham returned – at least temporarily – to the wheel of Manchester City. To do this, the Spurs notably benefited from the rediscovered form of Richarlison, once again a scorer this evening.
Double-scorer during his team’s great success last Sunday against Newcastle (4-1), the Brazilian therefore did it again by opening the scoring against Forest, just before the break (0-1, 45th+2). After a goal refused on the hour mark for the locals (58th), it was Dejan Kulusevski who was responsible for scoring the break for the Londoners (0-2, 65th).
Bissouma sees red
An achievement which was important because Tottenham then had to close ranks due to the expulsion of Yves Bissouma (70th). Vastly superior to their hosts, the Spurs have logically validated their success and are now six units ahead of their first pursuer, Manchester United (6th) who will play a shock this Sunday against Liverpool. Nottingham remains sixteenth.
