Thierry Henry has urged Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé to stay at the club until the end of the season amid talk of a January departure.

It has now been over two years since Mbappé was linked with a move to Madrid, and he has twice rebuffed Los Blancos’ interest to stay at his hometown club. However, it has been suggested that he could leave Paris in January, especially if Madrid are prepared to pay a sum of money to get him back, as he will be at the end of his lease with Paris at the end of the campaign.

During his appearance on CBS Sports, Henry encouraged the star winger to stay in Paris until next summer: “If I am Kylian Mbappé, I will not leave. You want to finish what you started. Why would you want to leave? You always have to win the championship. He loves PSG, you have to understand that. He loves his club, he comes from there… I want him to stay until the end”.

With the Bondynois’ contract expiring in June, it seems inevitable that he will wear the white jersey of Madrid next season. Despite having the option to trigger an extension clause in his contract, he informed his club this summer that he did not intend to accept it.
