Both sports advisor to PSG and Celta Vigo, Luis Campos will give up one of his caps at the end of the season, or even before…

Appointed head of sports management at Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2022, Luis Campos has at the same time joined the upper echelons of Celta Vigo as an external advisor. A double hat which has never ceased to annoy the leaders of the Galician club, to such an extent that a divorce has already been recorded between the two parties, reveals Relevo.

The Spanish media claims that the relationship between the Portuguese leader and the team coached by Rafael Benitez has deteriorated over time. The first big frictions arrived on the last day of the summer transfer window, during which Celta completed two signings in the last hours (Ristic and Guaita), but the long-awaited midfielder never arrived. Beyond this miss, it was the absence of Campos in Galicia that day which greatly irritated President Carlos Mourino, who hoped to see the former sporting director of Losc much more involved in daily life of the club.

For his part, Luis Campos informed Carlos Mourino that his role was limited to that of advisor and that he was not obliged to be present on site. However, he was expected in Vigo on November 10 to attend Celta’s match against Bilbao. But the Portuguese ultimately stayed in Paris, where he gave a lecture to students at the Sorbonne. An absence poorly received within the Galician management, which finally decided to part ways with its 59-year-old sports advisor. A divorce which should take place by the end of the 2023-2024 financial year.
