Emil Forsberg will leave RB Leipzig

Formerly a fixture at RB Leipzig, Emil Forsberg is reaching the end of his career in a club he joined in January 2015 from Malmö. Despite a contract running until June 2025, the Swedish playmaker will leave this winter, which Marco Rose half-heartedly confirmed at a press conference on the eve of hosting Hoffenheim.

The coach also said that the 32-year-old would be on the pitch for a final appearance at home in front of his supporters. Author of the winning goal in the Champions League on Wednesday against the Young Boys of Bern, Forsberg will remain in the Red Bull galaxy because he is in the process of joining MLS with the New York Red Bulls until 2026 (with a option up to 2027).
