This Thursday, Marseille, Toulouse and Rennes will only need a draw to achieve their Europa League objective.

While RC Lens is transferred to the Europa League and Paris Saint-Germain narrowly validated its qualification for the round of 16 of the Champions League, the French clubs involved in the Europa League have been rather successful until then. Between the three of them, theOlympic Marseille, Toulouse and the Rennais Stadium only have two defeats (in fifteen cumulative matches) and can all continue the adventure despite their difficulties in the championship.

A draw is enough for OM

Guaranteed to finish in the top two of Group B, OM will only need a draw on the Brighton pitch to finish first and thus go straight to the round of 16. This would notably avoid two play-off matches against a club exiting the Champions League, and therefore two fewer big matches in an already busy schedule. In the event of defeat, Gennaro Gattuso’s men would finish second in their group.

Toulouse also

Thanks in particular to its historic victory against Liverpool, the TFC is guaranteed to experience a European spring, it remains to be seen in which competition. Second, four points behind the Reds, they can no longer finish first. But with a draw or a victory at LASK (last in the group), they will be assured of playing in a play-off for the round of 16. In the event of a defeat, we will have to hope that Royale Union SG does not win against Liverpool at the same time by catching up on goal difference.

And… Same for Rennes

With four wins and a draw, Rennes added a little light to a very dull season in Ligue 1. Facing Villarreal, their runner-up, Rennes will also only need a draw to finish first in their group and avoid a roadblock. In case of defeat, they will finish second and go through the jump-off.
