Composition
Brighton-OM, pre-match
Leader of Group B with 11 points, still undefeated and already assured of continuing the adventure in the Europa League, OM are approaching their last group match rather calmly, Thursday evening on the Brighton pitch. A meeting to follow live with commentary on our site from 9 p.m., on the Canal+ Foot and M6 channels as well as streaming on the MyCanal and 6Play platforms.
But beware of overconfidence for the Marseillais. Because with only one step ahead of the English in the ranking, they are not immune to disillusionment. A defeat would effectively drop them to second place and send them straight into a tricky play-off against one of the third-placed Champions League groups. With, among them, some large clients.
Gattuso redoubt De Zerbi
If they do not fall on Lens, the Ciel et Blanc could cross paths with AC Milan, Benfica Lisbon, Galatasaray, Feyenoord Rotterdam, Shakhtar Donetsk, Braga and Young Boys Berne in the round of 16 in case of misstep against the Seagulls. To avoid this, Gennaro Gattuso’s players would therefore be well advised to achieve a fourth consecutive success.
“The biggest mistake we could make is to come here to draw against a team coached by (Roberto) De Zerbiexplained the Italian coach at a press conference. It needs courage. Otherwise, you lock yourself in your 25 meters and you don’t come out. (…) You can’t come here and defend. Otherwise, all you have to do is make the sign of the cross! » The Phocaeans have been warned.
Brighton-OM, the probable lineups
For this last meeting of the group stage, OM will have to do without Valentin Rongier and Joaquin Correa, still in the infirmary. Pape Gueye, who was not included on the OM list for the Europa League, will also miss the game. For their part, Brighton will be without many players, Ansu Fati, Julio Enciso, Pervis Estupinan, Tariq Lamptey, Solomon March and Danny Welbeck.
Brighton’s probable line-up: Verbruggen – Vettman, Van Hecke, Dunk, Hinshelwood – Gross, Gilmour – Adingra, Ferguson, Mitoma – Joao Pedro.
The probable composition of OM: Lopez – Mbemba, Gigot, Balerdi – Clauss, Veretout, Kondogbia, Harit, Murillo – Vitinha, Aubameyang.
