Winner of Sevilla FC on the last day of the group stage (2-1), RC Lens stretched its impressive series at home.
The Lensois public experienced another dream evening at Bollaert. If the Sang et Or had to give up on the round of 16 of the Champions League after their heavy defeat at Arsenal (6-0), they validated their ticket for the Europa League by dominating Sevilla FC (2-1 ).
A draw was enough but Franck Haise’s men snatched victory in added time (2-1), thus signing an almost faultless run in Bollaert with two home victories against Arsenal (2-1) and Sevilla FC and a draw against PSV Eindhoven.
And Lens also extended its incredible series at home: the Sang et Or in fact scored a 36e consecutive home match in the European Cup by scoring at least one goal. Bollaert’s audience will appreciate it.
