Olivier Dall’Oglio was made official this Tuesday as the new coach of AS Saint-Étienne.

L’AS Saint-Étienne must emerge from the crisis. After five consecutive defeats in Ligue 2 and an early elimination in the 8th round of the Coupe de France, the Greens decided to part ways with Laurent Battles, who arrived last season and who had a good second half of the championship.

Dall’Oglio to the rescue

This Tuesday, the club formalized the arrival ofOlivier Dall’Oglio on the Saint-Etienne bench. Having recently passed through Dijon, Brest and even Montpellier, the French technician therefore becomes the new coach of ASSE, where he signed a six-month contract with an optional additional year. “This Tuesday, Olivier Dall’Oglio (59 years old) was officially appointed coach of the AS Saint-Étienne professional team until the end of the season, with an additional year as an option. He arrives in Forez accompanied by Grégory Peres, new deputy”we can read in the press release published by the club.

Dall’Oglio, who has not coached in Ligue 2 since the 2015-2016 season, was excited by this new sporting challenge. “It’s a new challenge in a legendary club. We’ll have to go quickly, but I’m really confident. I will convey my determination to the whole group. You will have to be rigorous, vigilant, and have the necessary concentration. It is on these aspects that I will focus initially”, explained the 59-year-old coach. This Saturday he will lead his first match on the Greens bench in Bordeaux, another monument of French football in danger.
