Paris Saint-Germain Brazilian defender Marquinhos has confided his ambition to win the coveted Champions League.

Marquinhos arrived at Paris Saint-Germain in July 2013, aged 19. Since then, he has become one of the best central defenders in the world. He won eight French championship titles, six French Cups, six League Cups and a French Super Cup with the capital club. But he is still missing a trophy: the Champions League. PSG reached the final of the competition in 2020, but were beaten by Bayern Munich (0-1).

Before the decisive match against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday, the Brazilian confided his dream of winning the Champions League with PSG. “Win the Champions League with PSG? It would be something magnificent,” said the Parisian captain. “It’s the only trophy missing for me here. It’s a dream for those who have been here and I still have it. »

Marquinhos knows the road to victory is long, but he is confident. “We have to go game by game. Tomorrow’s match is decisive in this Champions League season. If one day I bring this cup back with me to Paris, it will be one of the best days of my life. »

PSG must beat Dortmund to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League. A victory would give the capital club a big boost in their quest for the coveted trophy.
