Manchester United’s terrible record

Beaten at home by Bayern Munich on Tuesday, the Red Devils delivered their worst campaign in their history in the Champions League.

After inheriting Bayern Munich, Galatasaray and Copenhagen in the draw, Manchester United seemed to have a good chance of accompanying the Bavarian giant to the round of 16 of the Champions League in their group.

Alas, the Red Devils’ European season turned into a disaster and the last day did not result in the expected miracle. While FC Copenhagen did not let the opportunity pass against Galatasaray, the Mancunian club suffered the law of Bayern at home (0-1). A setback which meant that Erik ten Hag’s men finished in last place in their group and therefore were eliminated from all European competitions.

And with four points on the clock thanks to a defeat and a draw in six matches, MU signed its worst campaign in its history in the Champions League, doing worse than the six points compiled in 2005-06.
