The tireless Mr. Benzema

At the 40e minute of play, the former Real player converted a serve from Al Shanqiti from close range. With the flat of his foot, he did not tremble and made the score 3-0 just before the break.

This goal has a special meaning. KB9 becomes the very first player in history to score in four different editions of the Club World Cup. He had done so previously in 2014/15, 2016/2017 (twice) and in the final of the 2022/2023 event.

Note that if he wins this tournament this season, Benzema will also become the first player to be crowned world champion with two different jerseys. One more accomplishment in the rich career of this immense player.

Benzema, as a reminder, joined Al Ittihad last summer after 14 years in Madrid. He has scored 14 goals with this Al-Jeddah team, in all competitions.
