Interim coach of OL since the ousting of Fabio Grosso on November 30, Pierre Sage has been confirmed on the Lyon bench.

According to RMC, the 44-year-old technician, credited with a great victory over Toulouse on Sunday in the championship (3-0) – only the second for Les Gones this season and the first at home – has gained the assurance of remaining on the bench until ‘at the end of the year at least.

While the names of more experienced strategists continue to circulate behind the scenes – those of Jorge Sampaoli or Bruno Genesio for example – the one who until then held the position of director of the OL training center, particularly appreciated by the Rhone locker room , will be able to lead Lacazette and others for two more matches, at a minimum.

Between now and the winter break, Lyon has a meeting with Monaco in the Principality this week, then Nantes at the Groupama Stadium on December 20. Since taking charge of the first team, Pierre Sage has recorded two losses (3-2 at Lens and 3-0 at Marseille) and the weekend’s success against TFC.
