Injured and absent against Luton Town in a 2-1 victory for Manchester City, Erling Braut Haaland and Jérémy Doku are on the flank. Bad news for Pep Guardiola who was still reassuring about the state of his players. First of all, he ruled out the possibility of seeing Erling Haaland playing against Red Star Belgrade this Wednesday: “don’t ask me if his foot is broken because it’s just a stress fracture. He wasn’t ready for this weekend’s game and I don’t think he will be ready for Crystal Palace next Saturday. Hopefully he can be ready for the Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia.”

As for Jérémy Doku, the unavailability should be quite short as suggested by the Spanish coach: “It’s muscular. But it’s not a big big problem like Kevin De Bruyne for example. But we must remain vigilant because of its explosiveness. This is why we prefer to be careful with him. I don’t know when it will be ready, maybe in a week or two.”
